COSTS & MINIMUM QUANTITIES
Have protein powder manufactured: What does your project cost – and which quantity is right?
Plan minimum quantities, pack sizes, and scope of services on the same basis. This is how a product idea turns into a comparable calculation.
THE FORMULATION PATH DECIDES
First, choose the appropriate starting point.
A different protein source, a modified sweetener, or a new flavor can turn a standard version into a development project. That is why we clarify the recipe before determining quantity and cost basis.
| Your project | Getting started | What you determine |
|---|---|---|
| Available finished blend under your own brand | From 50 kg | Selection, quantity, and desired product version |
| Custom protein formula | From 300 kg | Protein base, formula specifications, scope of development, and execution |
| Reorder or larger production volume | Order-based planning | Existing specification, requirement, and desired deadline |
The minimum quantity applies in each case to the agreed version.
SET THEORY
How many packs are in your mix?
The simple calculation is: Product quantity in grams divided by fill quantity per package.
| Product quantity | 250 g / 500 g | 1 kg |
|---|---|---|
| 50 kg | 200 / 100 packs | 50 packs |
| 300 kg | 1,200 / 600 packs | 300 packs |
| 1,000 kg | 4,000 / 2,000 packs | 1,000 packs |
The table serves as a guide. Actual yield, net quantity, filling schedule, and packaging conditions will be taken into account in the offer. Any breakdown by variety or size must also be coordinated.
COMPARING OFFERS CORRECTLY
The price per kilo is important. The scope of services makes it comparable.
A price for unpackaged mixture and a price for pre-filled, labeled cans describe different services.
| Cost factor | Which details specify the offer |
|---|---|
| Protein raw materials | Desired base and specification, e.g., WPC, WPI, or plant-based blend |
| Other ingredients | Flavor, sweetener, and additional formulation components |
| Development | Existing formulation or new development with agreed-upon sample volume |
| Production | Quantity and specific processing steps |
| Packaging | Bulk, pouch, tub, and desired fill weight |
| Labeling and documentation | Existing templates and additionally required services |
| Logistics | Delivery destination and, if applicable, shipping or storage services |
This is how you can tell if two quotes actually refer to the same specifications.
DIFFERENT STARTING POINTS
The initial product and the follow-up order are calculated separately.
For a new development, the recipe and execution must first be determined. For a subsequent repeat order without changes, the documented basis can be used.
Raw material conditions, packaging, quantity, and delivery planning continue to be assessed for each individual order. Therefore, a completed development does not result in a blanket fixed follow-up price.
RELIABLE BASIS FOR A QUOTATION
Six details make your project concrete.
If a complete technical description is not yet available, an understandable product idea is sufficient as a starting point.
- Product pathFinished blend or custom formula.
- Protein basisPreferred whey, plant-based raw materials, or open selection.
- Flavor and sweeteningExisting concept, reference, or specific requirements.
- Quantity and packagingPlanned kilograms, fill weight, and packaging type.
- Target market and deadlineWhere and when you would like to offer the product.
- Existing documentationFormula, specification, design, or reference samples.
PLAN MARKET ENTRY
Also consider the time after production.
A product launch often includes design, product presentation in the shop, storage, and shipping. Depending on what your company already covers, you can organize these services yourself or coordinate additional support with us.
Schneider Solutions combines protein powder manufacturing with optional services for your brand, Shopify, and fulfillment.
YOUR PLANNING
Which path suits your project?
Ready-made blend: entry from 50 kg.
Custom formula: individual development from 300 kg.
Specific requirements: request a firm quote directly.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions about costs and minimum quantities
Prices, samples, layout, packaging and delivery dates.
How much does it cost to have your own protein powder manufactured?
